The 2013 United Volleyball Conference playoff field has been set, with eight teams battling for a chance to win the postseason conference championship and earn the automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Men’s Volleyball Championship. The playoffs begin Saturday, April 13 with four quarterfinal matches and two semifinal matches. The championship will take place on April 14 at 1pm.

Before the action begins, here are some quick facts about the conference tournament.
 
-The UVC will employ an eight-team tournament format for the third straight year.
 
-All eight teams that qualified for the 2012 Tournament return again this year.  
 
-Nazareth won both the 2011 and 2012 titles.
 
-Nazareth will serve at the top seed for the second time, previously serving in 2011.
 
-New Paltz has earned its highest seed at #3, previously the #7 seed in 2011 and 2012.
 
-The #1 seed is 1-1 in the quarterfinal match of the tournament, #2 (1-1), #3 seed (2-0), #4 seed (2-0), #5 (0-2), #6 (0-2), #7 (1-1), #8 (1-1).
 
-The #3 and #4 seeds have advanced to the semifinals each year by 3-0 sweeps over the #6 and #5 seeds.
 
-The #1 seed is 1-0 in the semifinal match, #2 (1-0), #3 (0-2), #4 (1-1), #7 (1-0), #8 (0-1).
 
-The championship match has gone all five sets each year.
 
-The #1 seed won the title in 2011 over the #7 seed.
 
-The #4 seed won the title in 2012 over the #2 seed.
